Hadn't read this one before--thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeletethis is from his book, All-American Poem-- it's incredible.
DeleteI have zero creativity when it comes to poetry. I leave that to my daughter. Although, at 17, it is mostly about the rain in her soul.
ReplyDeleteDropping in from A to Z Challenge. It's my first year participating.

I dabble-- but it's not my strong point! Thanks for stopping by! This is also my first year doing A to Z!
DeleteHello, Azia! What a great idea for the Challenge. Happy National Poetry Month!
ReplyDeleteHappy A to Z-ing! from Laura Marcella @ Wavy Lines
Happy National Poetry Month to you as well! Thanks for coming to my little piece of the interwebs!
DeleteYes, I did grief today, as well. Tricky subject.
ReplyDeleteI agree! I loved your post-- you cannot sympathize with a character's grief unless you can identify with them!
DeleteHey, thanks for introducing me to Matthew Dickman. The video jumped around too much for me so it was kinda hard to follow along. But I did google the poem and thought it was excellent and very melancholic. It's one of those poems I could re-read several times and get something different out of it after each passage.
