Jamie Lannister Dopleganger

Every time I'm watching Game of Thrones-- I always have to make a comment to Garrett that Jamie Lannister totally looks like Charming from the Shrek movies.
Eva and I watched Shrek 2 today, and again it reminded me of this fact.

Little did I realize- I'm not the only one to carry this sentiment.

I found quite a few pictures representing this eerie resemblance.

Once you have realized this- it can't be unseen.

I Want Your Crazy

I was going through my notebook yesterday- this notebook (It is almost dead, less than 5 pages remain):

I must go and buy another notebook today.  I will feel naked without one in my bag at all times.

But, back to my original point-- I was going through my notebook yesterday and I came across this quote I had written down from Dave Eggers memoir A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius:

"Oh please.  What would a brain do if not these sorts of exercises?  I have no idea how people function without near-constant internal chaos.  I'd lose my mind."

I also wrote down the page number (214).  I grabbed the book and pulled it open and, sure enough, I had highlighted that section and scrawled the words "Brilliant!"  There are a few other quotes in the pages following where I had underlined certain parts.

(Does anyone else do this to the books they love?)

Are you one of them?

I write like Mario Puzo (plus stuff)

Did you guys check out the poem I wrote that is featured in Haunted Waters Press?  I blogged about it yesterday-  I hope you check it out!

I just discovered something kind of interesting/exciting..  I apparently write like Mario Puzo.. You know, the man behind The Godfather.  I know.  I don't think it gets anymore bad-ass.  AMIRITE?

I write like
Mario Puzo
I Write Like by Mémoires, journal software. Analyze your writing!

All my writer friends/readers (is there a difference?!) should analyze your writing and let me know what you guys get!  I love this kind of stuff.

Camp NaNo has been quite the challenge!  We were out of town this weekend so I did absolutely *no writing* and then on Sunday evening- a serious nesting bug bit me in the bum.  Since then, I have been doing nothing but two things: cleaning/reorganizing and hitting up the pool.  (It's a tough life I lead.)  I am hoping to end around the 30,000 word count mark.  I am trying to be realistic, and 50,000 probably won't happen!  But, 30,000 is something I can work with and be happy about.

My to-do list is pretty hefty and I have some french homework to turn in.  But, I plan on making time for writing.  Right now, Eva and I are headed to the coffee shop and play place.  I'm going to indulge in a delicious iced dirty chai and either read some David Sedaris or do a bit of writing.

Happy Hump Day!  (I've always hated that phrase.)

Poem Featured in Haunted Waters Press

Hey guys!

I'm pretty pumped up because my poem, Yellow painted toe nails, is now available to read in the summer issue of Haunted Waters Press- From The Depths.  If you'd like to check it out- it's on page 32.

You can read the poem / check out the issue here.
The issue features a ton of amazing writers.  I really think you guys will like it!

I don't typically write poetry- so I'm pretty nervous to see what you guys think!  Let me have it!  The poem featured in this issue was actually inspired by this photograph:

It's strange the things that birth a poem or story.
