More Sickness and a Cover

This seems to be the week of sickness in our house... I picked Eva up from preschool yesterday and she was burning up!  We've been fighting the fever, soar throat, coughing and a few other unpleasant things since last night.  I really appreciated how the teacher wrote up a lengthy note about how Eva was a "bit fussy today with the other children and adults."  And how she seemed "extremely tired."

YET YOU PEOPLE DID NOT NOTICE THE FACT THAT SHE WAS RUNNING A FEVER!?

These are the type of scenarios in which it is hard for me to be nice to people.  I can guarantee that they will not be met with happy words Monday morning.

Anyway... She's currently napping, and seems to be feeling slightly better.  I'm hoping to feed her something of substance when she wakes.  She's been living off Pedialite Popsicles and chicken broth.

Garrett is working until 11pm and I have to work at 5pm.  So, Thereasa will be talking care of her for a few hours this evening.  I contemplated calling into work, but it is my last shift and I really trust Thereasa.  I know Eva will be in good hands!

I wanted to share with you guys this awesome, hilarious, amazing, beautiful cover of Gotye's- Somebody I Used To Know."  I first saw the video on Sub Radar, then 2 minutes later I realized it was on the Front Page of Reddit, and about 3 hours later Gotye had posted it to his twitter account!  I watched the video soar from 308 views to over 38,000 in a matter of hours.  Oh the wonders of the Internet!

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

  2. Ah schools. It's worryingly amazing just how much they can miss sometimes. I remember when my school teacher told me off for complaining about a sore eye... later turns out I'd lost a tiny chunk of my retina when my sister accidentally poked me in the eye earlier that day =/

  3. Gia- I KNOW. I was furious. One of my resolutions was to stop cussing so much.. but stupidity like that makes it FUCKING impossible!

Cran- YOU LOST A TINY CHUNK OF RETINA? Holy balls, that far exceeds my complaints of bitchy teacher ignoring a fever... Wow!

  4. Um, how do you not notice a fever and a child acting differently than normal? Idiots.

    I wish I was napping too. :-(

  5. OH DON'T GET ME STARTED! I picked up The Boy from daycare one day, and they said he had scratched his leg when he fell outside, so they put a bandaid on it. Not just a bandaid, though. It was one of those huge bandaid patches. He had a three-inch gash in his leg. It wasn't bothering him, but it wasn't just a scratch. And now he has this scar on the side of his thigh, and it's been about six months. I'm like, "Yeah, that's not a scratch. You should have called me so I could take him to the doctor."
